The spokeslobster of the American Association of Culinary Lobsters issued a statement about this week’s cover of The New Yorker:
We find the cover art tasteless and offensive. There are wonderful lobsters all across the country who are honorable and are eager to be consumed by people. For a magazine cover to raise suspicions about lobsters, that they are terrified escapees, is unfortunate.
