To Be Titled

Striving to be a good dad, a good husband, a good son/brother, a good political scientist, a good photographer, a good cook and a good homo universalis.

We’ve been using a dining furniture set that came with the house ever since we bought and moved in 2.5 years ago. It certainly was not our style and definitely became impractical to use with a toddler around. So, we casually talked about eventually replacing it with something different.

Susanne found a custom-made farm table at Joyful Furniture and fell in love with it, and I posted our old (inherited) set on Craigslist. Although we haven’t sold it yet, we went ahead and purchased the farm table on Saturday, which was delivered yesterday. The delivery guys were nice enough to move the 400-pound slab of granite top to our garage before moving in the table.

The table is made from the wood of a 1930s, dilapidated barn in Longmont, CO. Attached is the description of the furniture collection and a picture of the barn that came with the table. It has so much character that it is unbelievable. We are waiting for the furniture maker to finish making a matching bench, which I will post as soon as we get it.
