Frontier Airlines’ Rapid Decline
They used to be my favorite airline company. I flew it so much in 2007 that I attained the “Ascent” elite status, which made me like the airline even more. Since their bizarre bankruptcy proceeding at the end of 2007, the company has quickly deteriorated. Now with their new pricing structure. they nitpick to charge high fees. They used to charge some of the highest fees for carrying pets on board until a policy change banned having pets in the cabin altogether. They now have a three-tier price structure, and the lowest tier means that you pay extra for everything, including first checked luggage. Despite their famous motto—A Whole Different Animal—Frontier Airlines does not seem to be weathering the economic/industry difficulties any differently than most other airlines. I already have started to and will continue to fly Southwest Airlines as much as I can.
