Home Security Companies, Part II

The ADT sales guy made a repeat visit on Saturday. He was just as smarmy as he was with me, saying “Six!” when Susanne said she wanted to see some numbers. He should have realized right away that such cheesy and manipulative sales tactic would not work when he saw me systematically getting bids from different companies.

So, we decided to go with Brinks. We signed the agreement on Monday, and the installation guy came out today. It was surprisingly a long process to install and test everything. I will spare the details of the installation configuration, since such things need not be public.

As Susanne says, our house is now “armed and dangerous.” We just have to make the outside of the house look like Brinks threw up on it. The yard sign is placed and one decal has been put on the main door. Three more decals left to place.

I’ve only accidentally set off the alarm once so far.
