Making Baby Food at Home: Apples and Raspberries

  • Apples (easy)
    1. Peel and core an apple. Quarter it.
    2. Steam the quartered pieces for about 10 minutes.
    3. Purée with a mini food processor. Freeze in an ice cube tray and store.
  • Raspberries (moderate)
    1. Fresh ones would work, but I used 1/3 of a bag of frozen ones.
    2. Bring to boil in a saucepan with a little bit of water. Simmer.
    3. Strain through a sieve.
    4. My batch turned out a bit loose, so I reduce it a bit after straining.
    5. Freeze in an ice cube tray and store.

Xander likes the combination of the puréed apple and raspberries.
