“Pancake—The Only Functioning Stuffed Animal” — This was Susanne’s idea for the #ds85 shot of the @dailyshoot assignment. She always says that’s what our 18-month-old thinks of the cat.
“Times in the Hamper” — The wife likes to read the Times before going to bed and leaves them on the bedroom floor. The cat likes to play with the newspaper on the bedroom floor in the middle of the night. The paper now ends up in the bedroom hamper before I go to bed. @dailyshoot was right—printed newspaper is hard to find these days. #ds55
“Pancake” — I’m not sure if he’s fully domesticated; he’s a biter. @dailyshoot #ds38
I’m pretty sure this is the bargain between Xander and Pancake as well. But it’s an unstable bargain…. [ICHC?]
“Oh, please don’t mind me. I’m just settling in my seat to enjoy my dinner at the dinner table.”
Can I wash my paw in it? You can’t be drinking water out of a jar, can you, Daddy?
Just got a Casio Exilim Z80 to shoot video clips, since my D40x doesn’t do video. This is a test clip.
Run, Pancake, Run!!
Pancake went for a little run yesterday. He launched himself on to me inside the house when I was about to step out and go get the mail. So I figured, okay, I will walk out with him. As soon as we got to the bottom of our stairs outside, he jumped off, ran around the side and to the back of the house to the other (west) side of the house. That’s where, in the past, he’d got cornered and picked back up. Not this time. He jumped to the top of the big Rubbermaid tool shed there and proceeded to hop over the fence from there, to our neighbor’s property. [Cue James Bond theme song here.] Of course, I’m running after him like a madman, following his pawsteps, jumping on top of the tool shed, hopping over the fence and landing into muddy grass, and running after him. He then proceeded to corner himself under a set of stairs, where I picked him up. He and I came out of this ordeal mostly okay—-he got a little “battle scar” of green grass stain under his left eye and I pulled something in my left knee, probably when I landed from hopping the 6′5″ fence…
Stopping to smell the flowers…
